Ariant…

Hey, guys I’m back from vacation, and I might wanna talk about Ariant a bit.

It’s out in global now isn’t it? We also have ariant colleseum that I’ve been waiting fro (even though it’s not my level.)
So here’s some info about ariant and the colleseum(pq).
From Strategy wiki:
Ariant

Region: Nihal Desert
Roads: Town of Ariant, Ariant Castle, The Burning Sands, Sunset Road & Hidden Street

Ariant is an Arabic town reached via a flying Genie located in Orbis. It has a Free Market Entrance and a World Tour NPC as well. The monsters are surprisingly weak for Ossyria. It’s a desert themed area with monsters to fit. They range from snakes and sand rabbits to cacti and the sandman. Inside the town is a refining factory for processing Lidium ores located in the sands, as well as a lot of empty houses and some shady characters that look like mercenaries and assassins. Near there is a Palace, only accessible when carrying an entry pass. North of Ariant lies the town of Magatia.

Because of its status as the sole supplier of Lidium, Ariant is a prosperous town built around a magic Oasis, outside the Castle. The town’s people, however, do not get to share in the wealth, as the Queen has levied heavy taxation on all trading. The Queen, a fairy from Orbis, is quite greedy and obsessed with Jewelry, and thus wastes all the tax money on trinkets for herself, leaving the townspeople to starve. This fact, combined with attacks by a group of thieves called the Red Scorpions, has led to a resistance movement being formed in the town. Rumor has it that they’ve been searching all of the world for heroes to join their group, the Sand Bandits, and if one asks the right person…

Directly outside of town to the right are swarms of Sand rabbits of both genders. Small Oases are located throughout the area, providing cool spots in the desert. Plenty of rest platforms can be found on every map, where a player can set up their chair and take a break from the heat. Traveling a little further, one stumbles across the Earmuff Frilld, the poorly dressed lizard monsters. NPCs are commonly found out here, many wielding swords. The next monster a player encounters in the desert is the Bellimoa, a relatively large snake that doesn’t flinch easily, and attacks by barreling into the victim. The path through the desert loops around to the other side of town, but not before passing through a monster “town” occupied by Catus and Royal Catus. Giant cactus houses can be seen in the background, complete with doors and windows. Finally, Jr. Catus are roaming around the left side entrance of the town of Ariant. Recently, a cactus-type Area Boss, Deu, has been added here, as well as an arena called the “Ariant Coliseum.”

[edit]Sunset Road

There is another path that contains monsters, accessed from right of the center of town, as opposed to either of the far ends. This path leads to the town of Magatia. The first species encountered is the Meerkats, among the toughest of Ariant’s monsters. After traveling in this direction for a few maps, the sun begins to set and the area darkens to match Magatia’s theme. Kiyo vultures and Sand Dwarves are keeping watch on the desert floor. The ruins of buildings can be seen, sinking into the sand. In the final maps of Ariant, huge sand monsters with trees emerging from their heads walk, ready to defeat any traveler attempting to reach Magatia. With the addition of the Camel Taxi, however, most players can easily skip over this region, if they wish.

About the pq:

all I know is that it’s another competitive pq like cpq, here’s some from strategywiki.org:

Ariant Coliseum

This is another Competitive Party Quest for character between 20 and 30. Characters from 20-26 may compete against each other, and characters from 27-30 may compete against each other, for fairness. It can be accessed from AriantLudibrium,HenesysNautilus Port, and other towns. There are three possible rooms per channel that the competition can take place in.

Signup Area

This is the equivalent of Spiegelman’s office for Monster Carnival. Upon talking to the NPC in one of the towns, players arrive here, where they can meet up with potential opponents. Players can choose one of the rooms to enter, and determine the number of opponents they would like to face. A match can range from 1 versus 1 to a full out free-for-all between 6 players.

Waiting Room

Upon selecting the number of opponents and what map they would like to fight on, the player enters this waiting room. If another player decides to fight on that map with the same number of opponents, they will also appear in the waiting room. The player that creates the room is also able to throw other players out that enter by talking to the NPC. Once the appropriate number of opponents have arrived, the first player to enter must talk to the NPC to begin the match.

Coliseum Battle

Once everyone has entered a room, the players must talk to the NPC to receive Element Rocks and Bombs, both of which are Use items. After these are obtained, a number of Scorpions will spawn. The goal is to collect as many Scorpions as possible by weakening them with ordinary attacks and then using an Element Rock. The lower the scorpion’s health, the more likely it is that a capture stone will succeed. After a Scorpion is successfully captured, it will appear as a shiny Spirit Jewel in the ETC inventory.

Bombs can be used to attack the other players and cause them to drop their own scorpion gems. A bomb will also stun anyone in range, including the person who set it, so one must be careful to get away from a bomb after they set it. While the opponent is stunned, quickly run around and pick up his dropped gems. If the gems are not picked up by the person who set off the bomb before the stun wears off, then the victim may grab them again.

If one starts to run out of bombs, the scorpions can also be killed. When they die, they will drop Bombs and buff or debuff items. The possible items are as follows:

  • Power Punch - A fist used during the Hunting Tournament. Boosts weapon and magic attack.
  • Wing of the Wind - A set of wings used during the Hunting Tournament. Boosts speed and jump.
  • Shield - A shield used during the Hunting Tournament. Protects the owner from the bomb once.
  • Crazy Skull - An eyeball-rotating skull used during the Hunting Tournament. Inverts directions.

Crazy Skull affects a random opponent (In GlobalMS it affects all the opponents). The other three items affect the player who picked them up. All items are used as soon as they are looted.

After the time is up, players talk to the queen. She will take the Spirit Jewels and grant experience based on how many Scorpions were captured and what place the player ranked amongst the competitors. The points are based on 1 per 10 jewels, the maximum being 3 for 2 players and 8 or more for at least 5 players. The last place player gets only 1 point, unless they are unable to get 5 jewels. Additionally, after gaining 200 points from Coliseum battles, players can obtain a Palm Tree chair from the King, which is tradeable.

Well that’s it!

Happy Mapling,
